How To Clean Fabric Sofa Using Natural Cleaners

Posted by

I own a fabric sofa and it is quite difficult to maintain because i have a toddler and a pet at home. It is very important that we keep our sofa clean and free from bacteria or other nasty things. Cushion covers might be easy to clean because they are usually removable and washable. But, the cushions are a challenge to clean.

The recipe that i'm going to share with you not only works for fabric sofas, it is a good cleaning hack for all upholstered furnitures and mattresses! Plus, after the cleaning process, not only it freshen up your furniture, it will leave them with great smell. The cleaner is 100% eco friendly and the ingredients can be found in our kitchen.

All you need is 2 ingredients and 2 items:-

1 cup of Baking Soda

Essential Oil of your choice (I use Lavender)

Hand held vacuum cleaner (with an upholstery attachment)

And finally...

A cup or clean container with a spoon

Leave on for an hour. The baking soda will help to kill dust-mites, absorbs / lift up unseen moisture, remove odour and deep dirt. It works as a great deodoriser because it chemically neutralises odours. Lavender essential oil has disinfectant and antimicrobial properties, and its cleaning powers have long been known.

After 1 hour, vacuum all the concoction away and you're done!

The faint smell of lavender left by the essential oil still lingers and smells so good. Hope you give it a try and let me know in the comment section below how you feel about this hack. Have fun trying different types of essential oil!
